Note: !Edward Hutchinson was a wealthy merchant of Alford, Lincolnshire, England. His son, the merchant William Hutchinson, married Anne Marbury in 1612. She was the celebrated Anne Hutchinson who was banished from New England for her religious views by Governor John Winthrop, Reverend John Cotton and others. Edward's daughter, Mary, married the Reverend John Wheelwright (Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge, 1614/1615, M.A. 1618) vicar of Bilsby, Lincolnshire, who was silenced as a Puritan and emigrated to Massachusetts Bay, landing in Boston on May 26, 1636. Like his sister-in-law, Anne Hutchinson, he was banished from the colony for his religious views, settling, finally, as pastor of the Salisbury, New Hampshire church.
