Notes
a. Note:   !John N. Mather followed a similar path to that of his brothers, Asaph and Reuben Mather. He moved his family north from Lyme, New London Co., Connecticut to Marlow, Cheshire Co. (near Stoddard), New Hampshire for a time and finally settled in Springfield, Windsor Co., Vermont where he lived for the remainder of his life. The death of his first wife and which children were hers is unclear except that the last child born in this family bears the maiden name of his second wife. Possibly the 12th child could be the start of the second family but that child bears the name Lydia, the name of both John N. Mather's first and second wife. I have split the children into two groups based on that assumption.
