Note:   !Sarah (Noyes) Mather was the daughter of Reverend Moses Noyes, minister of Lyme, New London Co., Connecticut, a Trustee of Yale College, and granddaughter of James Noyes, of Cholderton, Wiltshire, England. She married Captain Timothy Mather, of Lyme, New London County, Connecticut, the great-grandson of both Reverend Richard Mather and Major General Humphrey Atherton, of Dorchester, Massachusetts. They had five children. She died a little over a year after Captain Mather and they are buried in the Duck River Cemetery, Old Lyme, Connecticut. Their graves are marked with a DAR marker indicating that he was a veteran of the French and Indian War.
