Benjamin Harrison to guard a party of British prisoners to Winchester, 26 Feb. and disccharged 4 March 1782. This company composed of ... John Whitehouse among others. Rockingham County, Virginia Minute Book I, p. 259 "Wm. Dunlap vs John Whitehouse, Jacob Gum, Jehu Gum, 32 shillings to the estate of Whitehouse. Debt of 3-4-1 is to be paid to the plaintiff, March 20, 1783." -------------- On the 1786, Rockingham Personal Property Tax List, 2nd list of Wm. Dunlap, "John Whitehouse, 1 tithable, 0 horses, 0 cattle." (Rockingham County Tax Lists, Virginia State Library. Information copied by L.
