Kimbel No More�C/b�D; Well-known Riverman Died Last Saturday and is Buried Here. - Capt. Richard Kimbel, the well-known riverman, passed away at his home at Kimbel's Park, north of Dubuque, last Saturday, aged 70 years, heart failure being the cause of his death. Richard Kimbel was born in Germany, May 20, 1840 and emigrated to America with his parents when four years old. Capt. Kimbel was engaged in steamboating on the Mississippi for over half a century and enjoyed a large acquaintance all along the big stream. He owned numerous steamboats and ferryboats in his time and had more than his share of hard luck, but always managed to come out on top, and succeeded in raising a large family, for he was married four times and was the father of twenty-three children. Three wives preceeded him to the grave and fifteen children survive, namely: Mrs. Elmer McDonnell, Mrs. Fred Went_ander, Mrs. Chas. Hershey, Mrs. [illegible], Mrs. Joseph Parr, [illegible] Kimbel, Mrs. George Fengler, [illegible]el, Mrs. Albert Klavitter, Albert Kimbel, Mrs. Ralph Stewart, Roy Kimbel, Eddie Kimbel, Carl Kimbel and Richard Kimbel, Jr. �Cb�D �C/b�DCapt. Kimbel's first wife was Anna Watry, his second Catherine Weigand, third Frances Mayr, all of Bellevue, his fourth Josephine Bischoff of Dubuque. The body was brought to Bellevue on the steamer Potosi, Tuesday noon for interment, services being held in the Lutheran church, a large number of his old-time friends gathering to pay a last tribute of respect to his memory.
