Note: y. Visitation will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb 7, at the funeral home. Mr. Gardner was born Sept. 15, 1889, in Maroa, ill., to T.W. Gardner and Elizabeth Berkler Gardner. In 1912, he married Eulah Pickard, and she preceded him in death in 1935. He then married Elsie Stipp on Sept. 10, 1938, and she survives. He was a member of the Rocheport United Methodist Church, where he served as a member of the official board for many years. He was a farmer until his retirement in 1966, when he moved to Rocheport. In 1988, he and his wife moved to the Frederick Retirement Hotel in Boonville. Surviving along with his second wife are a son, Wilbur "Pete" Gardner of Kansas City; a daughter, Esther Cook, of Springfield; a stepdaughter, Evelyn Woolery of Ponca City, Okla.; two sisters, Katherine Pipes of Columbia and Floy McQuitty of Woodlandville; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Note: Carl Joseph Gardner, 103, of Columbia died Friday, Feb. 5, 1993, at Columbia Regional Hospital. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 7, at Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. David Peques officiating. Burial will be in Columbia Cemeter
