Note: Lora Kathryn pipes was born October 11, 1900 in Whitmore Township, Illinois to Thomas W. and Elizabeth Berkler Gardner. On October 10, 1922, she married Porter Drake Pipes and he preceded her in death on December 19, 1954.
She moved to Columbia from Mexico, Missouri in 1957. She was a member of the Oak Towers Band.
Survivors include four sons, Rho D. Pipes of O'Fallon, Missouri, Harold L. pipes of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Kenneth G. pipes of Snow Camp, North Carolina, and Merrill D. Pipes of Mexico, Missouri; one sister, Floy McQuitty of Columbia, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Pipes was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, five brothers, and two sisters.
Memorials are suggested to the Woodlandville united Methodist Church.
