a. Note:   cooper. As a cooper or maker of barrels and casks, it was said that hespent much of the summer cutting wood to make the barrels. Hethen worked all winter making them when the snow was too deep for himto work outdoors. As a blacksmith, he made ox shoes as well ashorseshoes, for oxen were still being used as draft animals.(1)
 1930 Grandpa and Grandma lived in a cabin in Big Bear, CA until 1932.The cabin is still there on Georgia Street as of 1999. It is nowpainted green, but the outhouse is still there. It is a "three holer",a large one for Grandpa, a smaller one for Grandma and a small one for"BIlly" King, then only two to four years of age.(2)
 1932 Grandma & Grandpa lived in Huntington Park at 6500 CottageStreet. We always had Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners with thefamily in their house. They lived in the house as late as 1947. Thehouse was still there as of February 13, 1999.(3)
