Note: 1944 Funeral Services For late Mrs. Julia McCullough Held Here Today Funeral services for the late Mrs. Julia Ardis McCullough wereheld from the Methodist church here Monday afternoon. Rev. E. J.Harper, former pastor of the Downey church, assisted by Rev. RandallB. Scott officiated. Vocal music was furnished by Everett Dill andMrs. Leonard Stecklein. Miss Marjorie Stecklein played the violinaccompaniment. Interment was in the Downey cemetery. Mrs. McCullough passed away Friday at the home of her daughter,Mrs. R. S. Cooper, at Lakewood Village, with whom she has resided forseveral years. A native of Downey, she was born December 11, 1872. Shewas the youngest member of the Ardis family and the only othersurviving member is Mrs. Sally Gray, eldest of the children. Mrs. McCullough was the widow of the late Joseph McCullough andfor a number of years was clerk in Strine Bros. store here. many ofthe earlier settlers will remember her there. She is survived besides the sister residing here, by herdaughter, Mrs. Cooper, of Lakewood Village and a a son, ArdisMcCullough, of Long Beach and a niece, Mrs. L. R. Harris, ofBakersfield, whom she raised from childhood. David Chandler, mortician, directed the funeral arrangements.
