Thomas bought his brother, Hugh's farm in Dale County, when Hugh moved into Florida. In the 1870 census of Geneva County, Thomas' age was 63 and his wife was 68. There were 3 daughters still living in the house, Anna, Elizabeth, and Tersey. There was two others there and I don't know who or how they fit in but they were not slaves. Their names were David Bird age 12 and Madison Bowlin age 18. Geneva county was formed in1869 from parts of Dale, Coffee and Covington Counties.
