Letter to Nadeen from Marie Hassell. Nov. 6, 1985 Dear Nadeen, Hope the enclosed will be helpfull- I am an inlaw to this family- My husband's mother was a L angley- I have been in this family for 50 years in 1986- so I knew some of the older people - and was able to get- info- to be helpful to my children - always glad to share- Your Samantha is new info for me & I will be very pleased to have any and all info you have - as I, like you want every twig & branch & probably for the same reason. As we are member s of the Church & want to give all our family an opportunity for their eternal salvation. Us ually when I copy & share F.G.S. I cut off the right end but with you I left it on so you ca n tell which names I have sent for Temple work- I'm a very dedicated Worker on geneology mine & my husbands- I have a strong testimony this i s the work of the Lord- James Langley- bro. of your Samantha was killed near Farmington, Mo. by Civil War soldiers N orth or South I don't know-Shot while his wife held their 1yr-son (Thomas Martin Langley, m y Husband's Grandfather) & their home & all they had burned- My info like your's is family hand me downs, but I feel comfortable with what I have as we ha ve been very close to this part of the Family- We had a letter today from a Noah Matheny who is a gggrandson of your Smantha(his sp) Elizabe th Langlely- So he has to be a cousin to you- He is requesting the same info you are getting in this letter- I have to get back to town(20 miles) to get copies for him We plan a visit to Poplar Bluff, Mo.- Home of our Langley's very soon & I intend to spend som e time in the Court House there to see what I can dig up- I will appreciate any & all you will Share with me- Thanks for your letter
