a. Note:   Obituary Ruth Hendee, 98, of Lincoln, passed away in the early morning hours of Sunday, August 16, 2009 at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.
  Ruth was born on September 29, 1910 inCharlotte, Michigan to the late Raymond Lane and Mary (Wolford) Lane. She married Ralph Dale Hendee on December 31, 1934 and he preceded her in death on July 26, 1991.
  Ruth was employed by Jewel Tea Company in Barrington, IL for many years. She returned to Illinois in September, 1992 after living for many years in Homestead, Florida and surviving Hurricane Andrew.
 Survivors include: her son Richard Dale Hendee and his wife Roberta of Springfield, IL.; son John Robert Hendee and his wife Anita of Phoenix, AZ; sister Margaret Wild of Stockbridge, MI; 15 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
 She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter Margaret Belyea, her sister Barbara Webb and her brother Jack Lane.
  Cremation rites will be accorded and private family services will be held at a later date.
  Memorial donations may be made in her name to the American Heart Association or to the Alzheimer's Association.
  Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln has been entrusted with her care.
