a. Note:   Burton Records-microfilm #1024-reel #2, page 8 is the baptism of Stephanusm Rachowski. His fathers first name is recorded as Leanas Rachunski. The Godparents are simply listed as Kolazkonski and Bauarew_t__. I have been at this St. Albertus Roman Catholic Church and to where I think the house was on Superior where Stephen was born. They baptized him the same cold Christmas day that he was born. I can imagine Leon bundling up his first born son and whisking him off to this church. Was the lad born ill? They wasted no time in getting the Original Sin wiped off of his new born soul. He was named for the next St. day of Stephan, which is December 26.
  Burton records- St. Albertus #1024-reel #7 page 69. States that Stephan Rochocki married Anna Laurence who was born in Poldger (?) Poland? Her parents were Joseph and Juliannae. The witnesses were Leo Milke and his sister Marrianna Rachocka. Fr. Muller was the priest. This happened on October 26, 1908.
  State of Michigan records in the year 1908, page 245, record #62660 is the marriage license. It adds that Stephane was in the occupation of "Band sawyer" and Anna was a cigar maker.
  In the St. Albertus wedding records, it shows that Stephen was a witness to the marriage of John Kozlowski on February 14.
  (Today is 6-15-1999 and there was a man with no age in the obits with the same last name of Stephens best man. FYI)
