Note: School Days: Shirley started to school at Russell School in Mobile, Alabama. Transferred to St. Elmo-Irvington School, and went in the first grade and then whe went to Grand Bay School. Moved on to Crystal Springs road where she went to Eight Mile School. In the 5th grande she went to Queensboro School back in Shreveport, Louisiana where Miss Houston taught her. She finished her grammer school at Queensboro. When she was 13 years old she started to Fair Park High School in Shreveport, Louisiana.

BRIDE-ELECT--Mr. and Mrs. H.D. King announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Shirley Rae to Claude R. Wheeler, son of Mr. and Mrs. C.R. Wheeler of Spokane, Washington.The wedding will take place August 16, at 7o'clock in the evening at the Wesley Methodist Church. Mr. Wheeler has recently received his discharge from the Army and they will reside in Spokane.
Family members believe Shirley had lung cancer instead of emphysema. The doctors did'nt take care of her very well. So much was happening when Shirley was sick. Her mother was in the hospitol dying of cancer. Shirley died 1 month after her mother died.
