a. Note:   In a 1900 census, George Wheeler was in Shawano County, Wisconsin. He was 17 years old. He was not with his parents. He had a boarder living with him. In the 1910 census, he is living in Deer Park City, Washington with his wife, Ivy And his two sons Clair and Lyle. it is listed in this census that his father was born in Maine and his mother was born in Wisconsin. It is listed that he was a farm laborer working out. In 1920 George is working at a Lumber mill in Deer Park as a foreman. Between 1920 and 1925 George left his wife and 4 sons. They divorced and George married his second wife, Angeline. The boys did't see him till he was a old man. In 1930 George and Angeline were living in Benawah County, Idaho. He was a logging foreman.
 George did a lot of things, saw mills, logger, and farmer. He use to bring logs down the St. Joe River in Idaho.
 In 1936 George is employed at the Long Lake Lumber Mill that was located on the Spokane River in Spokane, Washington.
  George was born in Dobbston, Wisconson. More recently known as Markton. Dobbston was established to the needs of a stopping place for arriving logging surveryers, settlers, and loggers in the 1870's. Langlade County became a county in 1879.
  Dobbston was started by Christopher Hill and Horace Rice by building small cabins for travelers and they were replaced with a larger log lodge structure. The cabins were the first reported resort in the region and the first in northern Wisconsin. Many fishermen were attracted because of Wolf River. Hunters also for the forests in the area.
  Langlade County flourished as long as logging went on. Many lumbermen's families moved into the area. Dobbston (known as Markton now) was located on Military Road which was estabilished in 1869. This road was the main travelway to and from Fort Howard in Green Bay. Today the area is in the Nicolet National Forest which is known for its beauty for hikers, campers and other outdoor activities.
