Note: Merle died out cutting wood with his son Merle Jr. Merle was resting in the pickup and had a heart attack. Merle Jr. found him.
Merle's Obituary, Chronicle October 2, 1975:
"Merle B. Wheeler passed away September 28, 1075. His home Deer Park, Washington. Survived by his wife Grace at the home, one son Merle Wheeler Jr. at home, 1 brother Guy Wheeler, Deer Park, numerous nephews and neices. He was a lifetime resident of Deer Park. A veteran of WWII. Funeral services will be Thurs. October 2 at 7:30pm at Assembly of God Church, Deer Park with the Rev. Lowell Kelly officiating. Cremation. The Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Deer Park Ambulance Fund, Box 596, Deer Park, Washington. The Lauer Funeral Home, Deer Park in charge."
