In the 1900 Census, Charles, his wife Oesta and their daughter were at Balsam Lake, Wisconsin. By 1905, they were in Deer Park , Washington. In a 1910 census, Charles and Oesta are listed in Deer Park, Washington. In the census it is listed as Charles being a farm laborer, working out. He bought a home in Deer Park, Washington and owned it outright. Most likely they traveled by train to Washington State. Charles loved horses and owned some. In 1920 Charles is working at a Lumber Mill in Deer Park as a laborer.
