Note: Harold was in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He enlisted on January 19, 1942 in Spokane, Washington not long after Pearl Harbor was hit. He was wounded and got the Purple Heart. Spokane Newspaper Clipping during W.W.II: Wounded in action in a bombing mission over enemy territory in the European theater, Staff Sergeant Harold A. Snyder, son of Mr. and Mrs. D.F. Snyder, W1824 Dean, has been awarded the Purple Heart. He was wounded last March 8, and later wrote his parents it was "nothing to worry about." Sergeant Snyder went to John Rogers high school and enlisted in the army shortly after the Pearl harbor attack. He is in England with a Bombing Squadron. A Picture is with the clipping... Harold had a pilots lisence and loved to fly. Harold could sing and play the spoons and always making songs up. He was such a character and fun. He was a tall, big man and tough.
