Note: Hollis worked for Unity Cleaners in Shreveport, Louisiann during the day and at night he worked for the Shreveport Health Department by spraying DDT thru out the city. He managed a theater in Cedar Grove, a small community outside of Shreveport. When Hollis died he had a rash all over his body. The doctors never knew what he died from. The family believes that it was the DDT. When his daughter, Shirley married Claude, Hollis did not like the idea of marriage and when they moved to Washington State he brooded over Shirley being gone. He was very protective over Shirley. Hollis would joke around with his kids when they were little at the dinner table by staring at them until the kids would holler at their mother to tell him to stop staring. Then he would die laughing at the kids. He had a contagious laugh that made you feel good. The kids always knew he loved them. Just about every week-end the family would go to the Drive-in to watch a movie because they had no T.V. Hollis was a man of many trades and mastered none. Fishing was his favorite pastime and enjoyed going to the lake with his sister and brother. The family always had plenty of fish. The family would go camping for the week-end and all the men would stay up late playing cards. He was a good husband and a good father. On his death certificate it says he died of a Heart Attack.
