a. Note:   Rosa was called Mama Rosa by her grandchildren. She would not be called Grandma. One of her granddaughters, Joyce King Allwhite remembers Mama Rosa braiding her hair when she was little and tell her stories about when Rosa was a little girl.
 When Mama Rosa was young, she rode her horse to school. She loved horses. Her father, Solomon Bridges was a strict Methodist and raised his family the same. They were not rich people. They lived in a log house and had a few slaves. Solomon gave most of his money to the church. They lived comfortably. Rosa use to play with the black slave children, which her parents frowned upon. Solomon was involovled with the Klu Klux Klan. Rosa use to iron his White. Rosa wore the old fashioned petticots. She hated the Yankees. It is said by family members that knew Rosa, that she was a true southern belle.
 Rosa use to tell the story of Molly Howard, her mother. And Molly use to tell the story to her grandchildren. One of them, Louise, Rosa's daughter, wrote the story down for family members to cherish. Molly was a strong woman and so was her daughter, Rosa.
 Rosa use to cover for granddaughter, Shirley, when she was late getting in. Rosa always would give Shirley money too.
 Rosa was strict about being called grandma or granny. It was forbidden.
 Family was of great importance to Rosa and was very involved with all family members.
 Rosa was a little worman. She was hiper and active. She was very healthy up until her death of a heart attack, walking down the hall in her house. She didn't have heart problems. She was just old.
 The old homeplace is in Athens, Louisianna.
