< this is the place Clem was living at the age of 15. He was living with a family called Latcham. He was an apprentice to a saddle maker. This must be where he began his wagon making knowledge which he used in the Civil war in the Wagon division. He was discharged with an injury which left him blinded in his right eye. He lived in Wheeling after the war but returned for a while when his wife Hannah had their son David. A Colgan and Emma. David died after 3 and 1/2 years
They moved back to Wheeling when David died. and possibly Clem died there also.
He was married at age 33 It is not know if he was married prior to this. There is a young man in his hometown named Clement R Colgan We think this might be John's Son. The R stands for Riley which is his Mother, Rachel's, maiden name.
