Note: Charles, Ted and Mary were raised by their mother Mary after the death of their father, Alexander. Charles who was four years old was the oldest child at the time of their father's death.
He loved nature and living in the Berkshire Hills, he once said he should have been born an Indian. He spent all of his free time fishing and hunting.
His nickname was "Happy", so he must have had a great attitude. His cousin, Bill Rourk called him "Hap". His sister called him "Chad" another nickname which I suppose was a dirivitive of Charles
