Text: NELLIE LUCAS - Age 78, of Hobart, and a lifelong area resident, passed away on Friday, September 26, 1997. She is preceded in death by her husband, Louis Lucas after 52 years of marriage, 1 sister and 6 brothers. Mrs. Lucas was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Church. She is survived by 2 daughters, Ida Alexander of Hobart, Rose (Jim) Luczak of FL; 1 son, Louis Jr. of LA; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Catherine Strawn of Canton, IL, Mary Branchfield of San Mateo, CA, Barbara (James) Reed of Albuquerque, NM; 2 sisters-in-law, Marie Hand of West Terre Haute, IN, Sally Hand of Marion, OH. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 1997 at 9 a.m. from the Stilinovich & Wiatrolik Chapel and a 9:30 a.m. Mass from SS. Peter and Paul Church with Rev. Dennis Teles officiating. Burial Calumet Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-9 p.m. at the Stilinovich & Wiatrolik Funeral Home, 7335 Taft Street (Hwy. 55), Merrillville. A prayer service will be offered at 3 p.m. Tuesday.
