Text:   CHICAGO - A former Canton resident, Ralph S. Hand, 75, Chicago, died at 5:30 a.m. Monday in the Veterans Hospital. He was born Sept. 1, 1895 in Canton, the son of George and Hester (Oldham) Hand and was married Feb. 26, 1916, in Canton, to Lovie Atkins, who died May 4, 1968. Surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Clara Smith of Chicago; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Leona Caruso of Canton, and Mrs. Leota Smith and Mrs. Marguerite Horn, both of Chicago. Three sisters died earlier. Mr. Hand was a veteran of World War I, having served with the U.S. Army. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Murphy Memorial Home with the Rev. S. Jay Curry officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Wednesday at the memorial home.
