Notes
a. Note:   Thomas Sherman's will, in Latin, dated Nov. 4, 1492 and proved April 4, 1493 in the Consistory Court at Norwich, left 3 shillings 4 pence to each of the four orders of Friars of Norwich so that he would have "an honest priest to sing for [his] soule and for the soules of [his] parents and benefactors by the space of four yeres." ("Ancestry and Genealogy of Thomas Grover")
According to an abstract of the will, Thomas' wife, Agnes, was to have his "tenement, next to the tenement of Agnes Felton, with the croft lying between the land of Thomas Cowper of the one part, and the land in the tenure of Wm. Foby on the other part, for the term of her widowhood; also 8 cows." John Sherman was to receive all of his "lands and tenements in Dysse and Yaxle." Each of John's daughters was to receive a calf. Thomas desired "to be buried in the churchyard of the parish church of Diss." (Roy Sherman, "Some of the Descendants of Philip Sherman..., pp. 1, 2)
