Note: The following article appeared in the Port Washington newspaper. Death Claims Two Sisters in Half Hour Mrs. Celia Karrels, 81, and her sister Elizabeth Croatt, 66, succumbed to death within 25 minutes of each other Monday afternoon at their home in Milwaukee. They were natives of Lake Church where last rites are to be conducted tomorrow morning. The Requiem Mass will be read by Rev. Raynor Hausmann, Pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Internment will be made in the parish cemetery. Mrs. Karrels who had been in ill health for the past three years, died first at 3:00 p.m. Her sister followed in death twenty-five minutes later. Both resided at 947 19th St. Miss Croatt succumbed to a heart attack, a condition which was believed aggravated by the death of her sister. Mrs. Karrels was born March 3, 1862 on a farm near Lake Church. After residing there a number of years she moved to Milwaukee where she remained a continuous resident for the past 51 years. She was married 63 years ago late in the month of November to Nic Karrels who preceded her in death 25 years ago in 1918. Surviving Mrs. Karrels besides three brothers and three sisters are the following children: John and George Karrels of Sheridan, Wyo., Mary Karrels of Sturgis, S. D., Mrs. Walter (Anna) Harder of Beaver Dam, and Mrs. Lee (Betty) McLaughlin of Milwaukee. Elizabeth Croatt was born Sept. 19, 1877 on a farm near Lake Church. When her older sister moved to Milwaukee, she accompanied her and remained with her until her death. Surviving the death of both sisters are three brother and three sisters. They are Mrs. John (Anna) Lorge of Port Washington; Mrs. Christine Possley of Holy Cross, Wis.; Mrs. William (Daisy) Hubbing of Terry, Mont.; Frank Croatt of Lake Church, Wis.; John Croatt of Belgium, Wis., and Nic Croatt of Alton, Iowa.
