Note: made her first communion 29 Oct 1848 Bourbonnais, Will Mrs. T. Bray Dies at Age of 89 Years. Was pioneer resident of Bourbonnais Settelement. Came From Canada. Death due to two paralytic strokes and davancing age, was well known. Mrs. Thomas Bray died at 1:30 o'clock this morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Roy, of Bourbonnais. The deceased had been in ill health for the past eight months. during which time she had suffered two paralytic strokes and with infirmities of her advanced years, she succumbed well resigned that her earthly career was at an end. Mrs. Thomas Bray, nee Fanny Alexandre was born near Montreal, Canada, March 22, 1839, being at the time of her death, 89 years, 5 months and 5 days old. Both the Alexandre and Bray families were peioneer settlers of Bourbonnais, having emigrated here in the early 40's. They and other of the French-Canadians went to farming in the little colony called "Le Petit Canada" near the river and west of the village of Bourbonnais. Mr. and Mrs. Bray were married in the parish church of that place, Mr. Bray died there forty-three years ago. Since 1923, Mrs. Bray had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. George Roy, who survive to her mother with three other daughters and three sons who are: Walter and Fred Bray, Chicago; Thomas of Bradley, Mesdames A. W. Parkins and Ella Rossiter of Berwyn and C.W. Burtless of California. There are 1 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Bray was a devoted and one of the founding members of the Ladies Sodality of St. Anne of Maternity parish of Bourbonnais. Funeral arrangements have not yet been made, the immediate family awaiting the arrival of the other children.
