Note: PETERSBURG SUN, Apr 3 and 6, 1934: " RAY TUCKER IS STRICKEN BY SUDDEN HEART ATTACK ----------------------- Passed Away While at Work in Toledo Tuesday afternoon ; Funeral Services Friday Ray Tucker, a resident of Petersburg for several years, passed away in Toledo at 4:00 P.M. Tueday, april 3rd, 1934. He had been an employe (sic) of the Detroit & Toledo Shoreline railroad for the past 17 years and he was at work when suddenly stricken with a heart attack. He died within a few minutes. Ray Alfred Tucker was born in Whiteford township October 3, 1886, thus at the time of his death had attained the age of 47 years and six months. As a boy he attended the Deland school near Lambertville. He was united in marriage to Miss Bertha Smith on May 4th, 1909. Besides the widow, Mr. Tucker is survived by one son, Olen, three daughters---Mrs. Helen St. John and Orris and Ruth Tucker, and one granddaughter, Mrs. Floria St. John, all of Toledo. Mr. Tucker had been a resident of Petersburg for the past seven years, moving to Toledo last September so as to be nearer his work. he was an active member of an Odd Fellow lodge in Toledo. Funeral services will be held at the Walters Funeral Home in Toledo today (Friday), with interment at Pleasant View Cemetery, Petersburg. Rev. C.F. Holbrrok, pastor of the Petersburg Presbyterian church, will be in charge of the services." MONROE EVENING NEWS, Apr 4, 1934: " RAY ALFRED TUCKER pETERSBURG, April 4--Ray Alfred Tucker, an employee of the Detroit & Toledo Shore Line Railroad, dropped dead of a heart attack while working in Toledo yesterday afternoon. Mr. Tucker, who was 47 years old, had lived in Petersburg for seven years, moving with his family to Toledo six months ago. Mr. Tucker was born in Whiteford township, October 1, 1886, and married Miss Bertha Smith of Toledo, May 4, 1909. he had been employed on the railroad 17 years, and lived at West Toledo, Trilby and Petersburg. He was an active member of an Odd Fellows Lodge in Toledo. Besides the widow Mr. Tucker is survived by a son, Olen, three daughters, Mrs. Helen St. John and Orris and Ruth Tucker and one grandson, all of Toledo. Funeral services will be held Friday at the Walters funeral home, Western avenue and Broadway, Toledo. Burial will be in the Petersburg cememtery, with services in charge of the Rev. F.C. Holbrook, pastor of the Petersburg Presbyterian Church."
