  ROMULUS--Mrs. Jessie Van Nest, 88, of Romulus died at 8:30 a.m. yesterday in Cambridge Nursing Home, Detroit, where hshe had been a week. She had been in poor health a month. Several nieces and nephews live in the Monroe area.
 Friends may call at the Niblack Funeral Home, Britton, after 7 tonight. The Rev. Gerlad Parker of Grace United Methodist, Ridgeway, will officiate with burial in Ridgeway Cemetery, Ridgeway.
 Mrs. VanNest was born Dec. 22, 1883 in Samaria. she was married to Roy Van Nest in 1903.
 A Romulus resident for the last 40 years, she was a member of the Romulus United Methodist Church, Romulus Rebekah Lodge and the Maccabees, Romulus.
 Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Merlin (Leola) Roe of Detroit; a grandchild, and three great-grandchildren.
 She was preceded in death by her husband in 1960, three brothers and a sister."
