Note: Luetta was born on her parents farm in Randolph Co. MO in 1892. The 1900 census shows her there as "Etta".
Interview with Jue Dahl in 1981. Luetta's uncle Luther lived in Pueblo CO and paid for her to attend dressmaking school there. While there she met and married Gust Dahl in about 1909. They moved briefly back to MO where Jue was born in 1910. Then they moved to Flagstaff AZ where they lived across the street from the Normal School. Luetta was a tailoress and taught part-time (sewing) at the school. According to the 1920 census they were still living there and Gus was working as a janitor at the school. Luetta's mother was living with them. Luetta converted to Christian Science about this time. She and Gus separated about 1920 and she told the children he was dead.
Before 1930 she married Albert Draheim, a career Marine and lived with him in Hawaii and then near San Diego until he become disabled with multiple sclerosis and went to a nursing home. She opened a tailoring shop in Oceanside, CA which she ran for many years. She had firm opinions and was not bashful about expressing them.
