Notes
a. Note:   In the 1900 census, as a baby, she is listed as Lula M Seney, but by 1910 she is listed as May Seney and that is the name she used for the rest of her life. In 1910 she is living just down the road from the Radford Family, including Everett Radford.
I have her records from Northeastern State Normal School in Tahlequah, OK which show she entered in June 1919. However, in the 1920 census she is living with her family and teaching school in Vinita. Her daughter Winifred Seney (later Susan Winifred Kent) is born 10 Nov 1921. On the handwritten birth certificate completed the day of the birth, she lists the father as Everett Radford and says they were not married. The later, official birth certificate shows no father.
I have a graduation announcement from the Normal School for July of 1925. I also have a wedding announcement for her marriage to Bradley F Thompson on 21 April 1928. By 1930 she and her husband own a home in Tulsa and her is and electrical engineer with the power and light company. She is a stenographer for the same company. In 1932 to 1934 she was a two time president of the League of Women Voters.
She did not give birth to any more children, but she and her husband adopted a daughter, Judy, in 1939. In 1951 her daughter Susan contacted her through an intermediary asking if she wanted to know her grandchildren. She became quite upset, as her husband never knew about Susan. She requested no further contact. She and her sister set a letter to Susan purporting to give information about her father, but some of the "facts" (ie his name, his residence and his job) are a fabrication and in direct conflict with what was put on the birth certificate. Other things seem to be correct such as the fact that he later married and moved to California in the mid 20's. She claimed he had died in a auto accident in the mid 30's near Pasadena CA. In fact he lived in Glendale (the town next to Pasadena) until his death in 1984.
Her husband died suddenly some time in the 50's and she died in 1977 after suffering from Alzheimer's Disease for some time. She is described by her daughter Judy as sweet, kind and thoughtful.
