Note: According to strong family traditon, this child was named Pete. However when he is 1st found in the 1900 census in his parent's household in Siloam, NC, his name is given a Evvie C Chandler. Maybe this was a nickname. His birth date is Mar 1887.
In 1910 he is is in Guilford Co NC, as are his parents. He is now called Peter. He has his own household, is married to a Sallie and has two toddler dughters Minnie and Pansy. His 17 year old brother John is living with them. Both men are working as woodworkers in a table factory.
The WWI Draft Card of June 1917 states that Peter is was born 8 March 1887 and he is married. He is back in Surry Co and working as a brick mason.
The 1920 census shows Peter as a widower with 2 small children Clarence age 4 and Lillian age 3. He is a brick mason and living in Winston-Salem Forsyth Co NC.
IN the 1930 census, Peter is now living in DC. He is still working as a brick mason. has been married to Eula for 9 years She is 29 years old and born in NC. They have 3 children Violet age 9 born in NC, Vivian age 7 born in NC and Hubert age 4 born in VA. His son Clarence is rooming with the foreman of a boys reformatory back in Forsyth Co, NC.
