Note: Obituary - James D. Hann Dead- Bunker Hill Press. James D. Hann died at his home northwest of town Saturday. Mr. Hann was one of the best known farmers in this part of the country and was highly respected by all who knew him. James Daugherty Hann, son of Benjamin and Mary Hann, was born near Chili, Miami County, Indiana, March 17, 1864, died at his home northwest of Bunker Hill July 30, 1910: aged 64 years, 4 months, and 23 days. When he was one year old his parents moved near Bunker Hill where he grew to manhood. He enlisted in the 151st regiment of Indiana Volunteers in 1865 and was honorably discharged after eight months service. Mr. Hann united with the Baptist church at this place when a boy and has lived an active Christian life ever since, serving as superintendent of several Sunday Schools and as deacon in his church for many years. He was married to Pheba Ann Puterbaugh Aug. 1869. To this union was born seven children - Florence, Ida, Elizabeth, Minnie, Ethel, Arthur and Harry. In 1875 they moved to their farm near Onward, where they have since resided. He leaves to mourn a wife, four daughters, two sons, seventeen grandchildren, one brother and a large circle of friends. Funeral services were held at the Baptist church Monday afternoon at two o'clock, conducted by Rev. Rees, of Kewana. Interment in Springdale cemetery.
