a. Note:   The 1850 census lists thomas as the oldest child of his parents, Raymond and Nancy Radford of Cumberland Co KY. The family is living just two doors down from William L Radford and his wife Jane. The are Ramond's brother and Nancy's sister respectively.
  The 1860 census lists Thomas living in Bates Co MO, not far from where his uncle and aunt, William and Jane Radford moved in 1856. Thomas is married to a Nancy and he has a son John who is 2 years old. All were born in KY, so they must have moved to MO in the last 2 years.
  The 1870 census shows Thomas living still in Bates Co, but Nancy and John do not appear. He is now married to Eliza and has two sons, Edward and Burton.
  He does not appear in the 1880 census, but his widow Eliza does along with five sons, including Austin, born in 1872. According to another WFT site, Thomas died in 1879. Of the five sons listed, Austin is the only one I can find as an adult in the census record.
