Note: N12 Also considered to have been born in Mt. Pleasant, however baptismal certificate indicates Standard, PA. Moved to Newcastle, Wyoming with her parents and siblings before coming to Canada. Moved to Canada in 1910 Homesteaded southeast of Assiniboia in the Weybridge district. When she came with her parents from Moose Jaw, they stayed overnight at Expanse in a sod house. Home she shared with her parents was a sod house with a pole in the middle. Sunday dinner always included neighboring bachelors and the treat was carrot pie. She worked in Moose Jaw before marrying Lawrence. Meaghers used to travel once a month to Ville France down at St. Victor for dancing with music by Mr. McKinnon and family. Winters they would load the family in a sleigh and visit and play cards with their neighbors. In the thirties parties were held at the school house. Coffee was made in copper boilers. Everybody was one big happy family. Used to have quilting bees, and the quilts were either raffled or gien to a needy family. They went to Truth or Consequences New Mexico for abou 25 winters. Entered the hospital in October 1986 Internment in Mount Hope Cemetery. Helen would caution new mothers that just because babies have baby teeth (temp) they still need to take care of the teeth.
