a. Note:   All 11 of their children were born in Switzerland.
 2 died in Switzerland.The 2 oldest boys came to America during the Civil War and enlisted in the Union.They were with Sherman's March to the Sea. Adolph AERNI was wounded in south Georgia and died. Harmon spoke briefly of caring him water in his hat. Adolph was buried in a mass grave near Savannah, GA.The remaining 7 children came to Kenton, OH somewhere around 1861-1864. The youngest was just a baby. They were very upset that their sons had joined in a war.
