CHARLES8 MOREHOUSE (JOSIAH7, JABEZ MOORHOUSE6, JABEZ MOORHOUSE5, JONATHAN4, JONATHAN3, THOMAS2, ABRAHAM1) was born October 1810 in NY, and died June 22, 1874 in Henreitta Twp., Jackson Co., MI. He married (1) DIANTHA ? Bef. 1838. He married (2) BETSEY AMANDA Abt. 1844. She was born Abt. 1821 in VT. Charles was the Son of Josiah Morehouse 1780-1846, who was the father of Almira who married Herman Atwood. v. LYDIA A. MOREHOUSE, b. July 27, 1849, MI; d.July 27, 1849, At home near Mason, Ingham Co., MI; m. ERNEST A. BLOOD, October 15, 1870, Henreitta Twp, Jackson Co., MI; b. February 22, 1847, Ashtabula Co., OH; d. June 17, 1929, Near Dansville, Ingham Co., MI. Notes for LYDIA A. MOREHOUSE: The 1880 census for Henrietta, Jackson Co., MI, has Ernest Blood, age 32, farmer; Lydia A., wife; and Cora, daughter, age 9, living nexdt to her mother, Amanda Morehouse. Per her obit, born third child of Charles and Amanda Morehouse, who were among the first pioneers of Jackson Co., having settled there in 1835. . . "Brought up amid pioneer surroundings she yet obtained, in the common schools of that day, an education which enabled her to become a teacher in her sixteenth year. . . of this union were born seven children, of whom three died in infancy. . . Brief services were conducted by Rev. Squires of Dansville, who accompanied the friends to the U. B.
