 Church Records for Ludomy, Posen, Prussia (Poland) show "Joannes" was born May 30, 1850, in Ludomy, to Thomas Napierala and Marianna Ciesielska. The religion of the parents is listed as Catholic. Thomas's occupation is listed as "Villicus", which in Latin means steward, bailiff, or overseer of estate. Johannes was baptized on June 9, 1850. Godparents were Ignatius Lipski and Anna Sobieralska (?).  Johann Napierala is traveling with "Wldd. Napierala". Also on the same ship were others who were probably also related: Anton Napiersla (age 2), Catherine Napiersla (age 4), Ignatz Napiersla (age 26), wife Josefa (age 30), Magdalena Napiersla (age 11 mo.). Most probable that these are all the same family and the "Napiersla" is misspelled. Specific citation for "Johann":

 The 1900 U.S. Census for St. Marie town, Green Lake County, Wisconsin, lists "John Naparalla" and his wife Mary living on a farm that they own but which is mortgaged. John is listed as 50 years old, having been born in June 1849 in German Poland to parents of Polish birth. His wife Mary is listed as 50 years old, also born June 1849, in German Poland to parents of Polish birth. They had been married for 26 years as of the time of the census, which was 14 June 1900. They are listed as having immigrated in 1883. Mary had borne 9 children as of the census. 5 of those children were still living with their parents at home: Anton (age 19, born January 1881 in German Poland); Clara (age 13, born August 1876 in Wisconsin--probably error should be 1886); Stanish (age 11, born May 1889 in Wisconsin), Roman (age 8, born February 1892 in Wisconsin), and John (age 2, born June 1897 in Wisconsin). John the father is listed as a farmer; Anton is listed as a farm laborer. No one in the house can read or write; only Anton can speak English. Clara, Stanish, and Roman are listed as "at school."  The 1910 U.S. Census for St. Marie town, Green Lake County, Wisconsin, lists John "Napieralla" and his wife Mary living on a farm which they own free and clear. John and Mary are both listed as 59 years old, both born in German Poland, to parents of Polish birth. They have been married for 36 years, their first marriage each. It lists their date of immigration as 1882 or 1883. John is a farmer engaged in "general farming". Mary had borne 9 children; 8 were alive at the time of the census, and only 2 of those were still living in this household: Roman (age 18) and John (age 14). Both of those children were born in Wisconsin. Both John and Mary speak Polish at home, and they can read and write. The children speak English, and can read and write.  Death Certificate for "John Napierala" shows that he died in the city of Princeton, Green Lake County, Wisconsin, on Thursday, November 25, 1920, at 2am, or organic heart disease with contributory causes of aterio sclerosis. According to the death certificate he was born June 24, 1850, in Posen, Germany, and was aged 70 years 5 months and 1 day. He was a white male, married, a retired farmer. Father was listed as "Tomas Napierala", born Germany, and mother was listed as "don't know". Informant on the death certificate was John Napierala, Jr., of Princeton, Wisconsin.
