Notes
a. Note:   Elijah had a first marriage and children by Frances Reagan. By his second marriage to Sarah M. around 1820 he fathered six children. Eli was born in SC and is buried in Marshall Springs, TX. He was a farmer.
NOTE FROM VICKI: Researchers of Eli's second family say he married Sarah M. around 1820, but Arthur Reagan says Frances was living until about 1831??? Need to find marriage records for Eli. Could he have had 3 marriages? On the 1850 Old Tish. Co., MS census his wife is listed as Jane which could be Sarah Jane or a different person altogether???
The Narramores left SC and spent some time in Hall Co., GA. "Eli" is on the 1820, 1830 and 1840 census of Hall Co., GA. (1830 Hall Co., GA census. In the household was 1 male between 30 and 40, 1 male between 5 and 10, 2 females 5 to 10 and one female 40-50.)
A land grant was issued to Eli Dec. 8, 1841 in Hall Co., GA. He received 15 and 2/10 acres of land. Military records show he served in the 93rd Battalion, 44th regiment from Hall Co., GA.
From GA they came to Old Tish. Co., MS and appear on the 1850 census of Old Tish. Co., MS with his family and his next door neighbor is J.W. Narramore and wife, Sarah.
(1850 census Dist. Northern Dist. Household Number 646. J.W. Narrowan age 33 born GA, Sarah Narrowan, age 18?. Household number 647. E.W. Narrowann age 53, born SC, Jane?, age 51 born SC, Alfred age 16 born GA, Marion age 13 born GA, Maxwell age 10 born GA, James, age 5 born GA.)
There were at least 3 daughters by Elijah's first marriage with connections to Old Tish. Co., MS; Mandy, Elizabeth and my line, Emily.
The 1853 tax polls of Old Tish. Co., MS show: Wm. Narramore, Jackson W. Narramore and Eli W. Narramore.
In 1854 P.M. "Pinkney" Naremore married Peter Crum with Alfred Naromor as bondsman. Eli had a son Alfred by his second marriage.
In 1853 Ben Johnson deeded 158 acres to E.W. Narrimore. In 1855 Ben Johnson deeded 157 acres to J.W. Narramore.
In the 1856-1859 Old Tish. Co., MS school records there are the following Narrimore children; Em., Wm., J. (page 165), Emily, Jamie, Willie (page 215), Sarah, James and William (page 17)-all in the year 1857. The board of police records for 1858 Old Tish. Co., MS list J.M. Narramore as a hand keeping up a road for "from 13 miles past to 15 miles past". In 1859 tax polls for Old Tish. Co., MS Mrs. N.J. Narramore is listed.
The Old Tish. Co., census for 1860 shows one Narramore family (Nancy and 4 children). (1860 census-Tripoli Post Office, household number 307, Nancy J. Meremoore age 33 farmer 1600 real estate and 300 personal property, born GA, William age 14 born GA, Emily J. age 12, born GA, James M. 10, born MS, Francis E. age 5, born MS, Eli VOYLES, age 23, farm laborer, born NC.
According to Lola Partridge, On the 10th of Nov., 1860, witneses H.J.C. Newman and Jesse Newman stated that "We are well acquainted with E.W. Naramore and know him to be the head of a family land in good faith settled and making improvements upon vacant public domain." This was followed by a survey which took place on March 20, 1861 in TX.
Note from Vicki: It's possible this is the same Jesse Newman who had resided in Old Tish. Co., MS???
According to Charles Narramore, "On Nov. 14, 1861 Eli patented 160 acres to land in Titus Co., TX, recorded in book 357 at the courthouse in Mt. Vernon, TX. He is the original land grantee. Later records show he sold this land on the 18th of Aug. 1869 to J.W. Wilson for $1,000.00. Recorded in book 3, page 434 in Titus Co., TX.
It's assumed since he isn't on the 1870 census that he died between Aug. 1869 and the 1870 census.
She is a tax payer for 1861. William is a tax payer for 1869. 1870 lists E.W. and N.J. as tax payers. In 1875 Sheriff J.C. Potts deeded land to W.E. Narramore.
James Voyles and Ruth Garren Henson had 2 sons who married Narramores. George Washington Voyles first married Mandy Narrimore and second marriage to her sister, Elizabeth Narrimore. My line, James Voyles, Jr. married Emily Narrimore. James and Emily are the great great great grandparents of Vicki Burress Roach.
Emily Narrimore Voyles was born August 16, 1816 in Hall Co., GA and died March 6, 1888 and is buried in Farmington Cem. in Alcorn Co., MS.

E.M. Johnson, Clerk One interpretation of time line herein:
25 Dec 1842: Suit against Eli W. Narramore by Bartimus Reynolds, probably for non-payment of loan.
06 Jan 1844: Judgment against Eli W. Narramore in favor of Bartimus Reynolds in amount of thirty dollars plus costs of $1.25
24 Feb 1844: Thirty dollars paid to Bartimus Reynolds by Jackson Narramore. Jackson Narramore now holds rights of execution.
Note 1: In March 1844 Eli W. Narramore deeded J.W. Narramore Lots 41 & 42. This is probably about the time that Eli W. Narramore moved on to Mississippi.
Note 2: The $1.25 apparently remains unpaid.
15 Sep 1849: Note 3: Jackson Narramore sells Lots 40 & 41 (is this when he leaves the area?)
01 Oct 1849: The constable is searching for personal property of Eli W. Narramore to levy, seemingly to recover the outstanding $1.25. (Did Grier discovered this uncollected amount and point it out at this time to his ultimate benefit?)
26 Oct 1849: The constable found Lot 32 (Won Lottery Land) owned by Eli W. Narramore for the use of Lemuel B. Grier. (does this mean that Grier pointed it out?)
04 Dec 1849: Grier buys Lot 32 at court house steps for $1.25.
