Elizabeth, age 10, WF born in Virginia The census taker didn't list "farmer" as an occupation for anyone, so unless otherwise stated, I am assuming the senoir male in the household was a farmer.
Augustus and Elizabeth were not married until 1849 and they are living with Elizabeth Hudgins, age 10 and Rebecca Hudgins, age 12 in the 1850 Census. It seems that this was a second marriage for Elizabeth, likely widowed. I would assume both girls were the daughters of Elizabeth. They are living next door to the Hudgins family. Henry Hudgins and his wife Pamela and three children: Samuel, Mary and Elizabeth.
Is this Elizabeth (Sr)'s ex in-lLaws? or just a coincidence? Also next door is Elizabeth Diggs, age 70, with William Diggs, age 40 Fanny Diggs, age 45 (illegible) and Anthony Diggs, age 35. Are these people Augustus's mother and siblings ( Fannie later noted to be a sister, not wife). The Diggs family in future census:

Diggs, Thomas, age 35, farmer. Susan A, age 34 and children: James, P, Kittinah(sp), age 8, Columbia, age 7, Mary A, age 4, Thomas S age 2 and Henrietta, age 22 (? relationship). Diggs, Anthony, age 53, farmer, Francis, age 58 and William, age 55, farmer. Living next door.

Westville Township, Mathews County, VA Diggs, Tyler age 37 or 57, sailor. Elizabeth, wife, age 30, Lubia, daughter, age 7. Augustus Diggs, brother, age 61, farming, widowed. Mary E, age 14, neice. In the 1850 census, there were no Augustus Diggs' listed. There were two other Augustine's listed. One was Augustone, b 1808 (too old) married to Cynthia who also shows up in the 1860/1870 census in Mathews County. The second, Augustine, son of Lucy Diggs is 15 and too young.
