 Eleanor Pauline Manning, 64, of the 400 block of Biltmore Place, died Mach 16, 1991 in her home.
 Mrs. Manning, a native of Portsmouth, was the widow of Frank Manning. She was a charter member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church. She was a member of Women of the Moose. Survivors include two sons, Robert C. Thornton III of Portsmouth and Richard A. Thornton of Rochester, Ind; a stepson, Earl G. Burgess of Virgina Beach; her mother Lillian Bush Kay of Chesapeake; two brothers, Beverly B. Kay of Portsmouth and Theodore M. Kay of Saint Leonard, MD; and two grandchildren.
 The graveside service will be conducted at 11 am Wednesday in Olive Branch Cemetery by Rev. Stephen L. Moose. Friends may join the family from 7 to 8 pm Tuesday in Sturtevant Funeral Home.
