Notes
a. Note:   William and Elizabeth were living in Wilkes-Barre Township at the time of the 1870 census and in Plymouth Borough in 1880. They were renting a farm in Plymouth Township in 1900.
  From the Wilkes-Barre Record
Wednesday, 12 December 1900, under Plymouth local news:
"William Zimmerman was seriously injured on Monday afternoon at #4 D & H Colliery in a strange and peculiar manner. He is employed outside and was standing on the narrow gage railroad leading from the shaft when a frightened mule dashed past him and the hook which is hitched to cars caught the heel of his shoe and he was dragged several hundred feet before he realized what to do, and then with a great effort he sat up as he was being dragged along and unloosened the hook. The mule continued its flight, but Zimmerman lay cut, bruised and torn from head to foot. He is suffering great pain, but will recover."
