 George Zimmerman, 68, widely known and highly esteemed resident of Larksville died at General Hospital soon after entering that institution Saturday night. He resided at 268 Vine Street. He was born in Plymouth and spent his entire life in Plymouth and Larksville. He was long employed by Hudson Coal Company. Mr. Zimmerman was a member of First Christian Church, Larksville. Survivors are his widow, the former Mary Kirtley, and these children: William, Koonsville, Pa.; Emerson Jones, U.S. Engineers, Greenville, Pa.; Mrs. Lamott Stiles, George and Mrs. Ruth Collins, Wilkes-Barre; Mrs. Caroline Keen, Larksville; Mrs. Dorothy Malak, Courtdale; Harold, at home; a sister, Mrs. Sadie Rinus, Mt. Greenwood; brothers, Nathan, Larksville; Fred, Kingston; also 28 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
  The casket bearers at George's funeral were Emerson W. Jones, Sr., George Keen, Emerson W. Jones, Jr., William, Ransom and Alfred Zimmerman.
  George is buried in Lot #111T (Graves 4, 5, 6, 10, 11, 12) of Maple Hill Cemetery, along with his second wife, Mary Jane; Edith Joan Jones (d./b. 29 March 1943); Ruth Collins, his step-daughter, (d./b. 3 July 1946); Harold W. Jones (stillborn, d./b. 23 June 1973) and, as of July 2001, the last lot is reserved for Anna Maria R. Noon. The lot's owner is Emerson Jones, George's step-son.
