Note: Per the 1890 Veteran's Schedule of the Federal Census: He was a private in Company G, 52nd PA Infantry. He enlisted 8 October 1862 and was discharged 12 July 1865. At the time of the schedule, his post office was Ceasetown Mills. He had suffered from deafness and heart disease (took place in South Carolina). From the Wilkes-Barre Record, Friday, 2 August 1901: "Jacob Bush has been granted a pension of $22.00 a month." From the Wilkes-Barre Record, Monday, 27 January 1908: "The death of Jacob Bush of State street, Welsh Hill, which occurred yesterday afternoon, removes another veteran of the Civil War. Deceased, who was about 67 years of age, was a member of Co. G, 5th Regt., Pennsylvania Volunteers, and saw service in numerous hard fought battles. He was born in Plymouth Township and had been a resident all his lifetime, except the years he was doing service for his country. He is survived by a wife, but no children. The funeral will take place Wednesday with services at the house at 2. Interment will be in the Shawnee Cemetery." His death certificate states he was born 29 December 1840.
