a. Note:   N57 1. 1880 Census for Cooper County, Missouri shows an Ellie Rutledge (Which could be misspelling of Allie, short for Alexander) with wife Mary Jane, son Columbus, age 3 and dau Katie A age 1. All born in Missouri and living in Black Water. Father born in Kentucky, Mother in Tennessee.
 2. 1910 Census shows Mary Jane with 9 children, all living.
 3. 1920 Census, Saline County, Black Water Township lists Rutledge, A age 74, wife Mary Jane age 68, daughters Nettie age 28, and Alpha age 24. Granddaughter Alberta May age 10. He was a farmer and rented home. Parents born in Tennessee.
 4. Scrap book in possession of Karen Jewel Rutledge Woods (great grand daughter) contains penny postcards to and from Mrs Kate/CC Rutledge.
