(S2) "Charlotte McCafferty, about 20 years of age, was found hanging in a barn owned by J. McEwan near a pulp factory near the lower end of the town of Chatham, Northumberland, County." (S3) "McCafferty, Miss. Charlotte, of up river, but who often lived in Chatham doing house work was found hanged in Jas. McEwan's barn. She left a gushing love note for a young man but no mention of suicide."
