Wm. B Nichols died Monday, April 18 at his home in Summit of consumption. Born Dec. 31, 1838. Was a brother of Thomas Nichols of Summit area. Married 3 times. First married Miss Rebecca Hatfield in 1865, who died Aug. 20, 1878. They had 5 children, Samuel, Wm, Luther, Mrs. Mary E. Bratcher and Mrs. Janie Mattingly. The eldest son and both daughters are now deceased. On March 8, 1881, he married Miss Maggie Sinclair, who died Nov. 24, 1897. They had three daughters, Mrs. Hettie Pence, Misses Effie and Stella Nichols, all living. On Feb. 25, 1900, he married Mrs. Alice Fry of Eastview, who survives him. Served in the Co. A 27th Regiment of the Ky. Vols., during the Civil War. Burial on Wednesday at Summit Methodist Church Cemetery. There was a snowstorm that morning which kept some people from attending the funeral.
