a. Note:   me has been transcribed as "Lutha (?) Martin." At the end of the will he appoints his ��friend John Grant (?) and my son in law James Hopkins�� as executors. He did not list a daughter with the last name �Hopkins� so many have assumed that the above named daughter, �Lutha (?) Martin� was the wife of James Hopkins and that her middle name was Martin (after her father). However, there is a marriage recorded in Rockingham County, North Carolina, on the 1 Jun 1825 between Litha Wright and John �Mateer.� This John Mateer�s name has been spelled �Matier� on census records, as well as other variations, including �Martin.�
  Facts supporting Litha/Sitha Wright being the daughter of Martin & Sarah (Reid) Wright:
 1. John Mateer was witness to the marriage of her brother, Barzillia G Wright, to Unity Webb 6 Aug 1835 in Rockingham County, NC
 2. a Turner Wright, born ca 1845, was living with Sitha Mateer in Rockingham Co, NC, in 1860. I believe that this was Barzillia T Wright, son of Brazillia G & Unity (Webb) Wright - Turner was a family name as Litha/Sitha and Barzillia G had a brother named Josiah Turner Wright.
 3. Her son James Martin Mateer's marriage was witnessed by her nephew Martin G Webb, son of her sister Nancy C (Wright) Webb.
