Note: Ray Sherritt served in the Marine Corps from April 19, 1917 to April 12, 1919. Saw action in France and was wounded, awarded the French Croix de Guerre with bronze star. "After being wounded refused to be evacuated, remained with his Platoon throughout entire attack. Later sent to the hospital. "Entitled to wear a silver star. Awarded French Fourragere. also. Except for his time in the service and about 2 years spent in Northern Manitoba looking after mining interests, he farmed in the Hunter locality the rest of his life.
