Note: the Elkhart General Hospital where he was taken Tuesday from the homeof his daughter, Mrs. Lawrence Schieber, south of Wakarusa. He hadbeen failing in health for several years. Mr. Doering was a farmer inLocke Township until 1921, when he moved into Wakarusa. After thedeath of his wife, Amanda Roose Doering, March 8, 1940, he went tolive with his daughter. He was born June 10, 1861, in HarrisonTownship, the son of Conrad and Anna Lever(sic) Doering. His marriagetook place Oct. 6, 1888. He leaves the one daughter, Nellie, sixgrandchildren, including Pvt. Devon Schieber of Camp Polk, La., abrother, Isaac of Akron, Ind., and two sisters, Mrs. John Kehr andMrs. Samuel Lockwood of south of Wakarusa. The funeral will be heldat 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the home and at 2 p.m. in the First ChristianChurch, of which he was a member. The Rev. Gordon Kemble willofficiate. Burial will be in the West(sic) Union Cemetery.
